Using the Editor: Digitizing a bitmap on screen

Overview
Digitizing a bitmap on the screen is a very helpful feature to construct an area based on a map in the editor. The editor does not directly support the import of external files like ARC-view or AUTOCAD data. But if your program can export graphics in the .BMP format, you can still use them to construct the area.
The basic technique is that you load the bitmap as background behind the editor area and digitize the area based on what you see.
How to do it...
First, you need a .BMP file showing exactly the area to be covered by the model. Exactly means that the bitmap must only show the area which you are going to digitize in the editor, no borders or other parts. ENVIeddi will adjust the map to the area of your selected model and does not care what the bitmap actually shows. So if you have constructed an area of, say, 300 x 300 m in the editor and try to load a bitmap that covers an area of 1000 x 1000 m, the editor will not care, but you will produce an out-off scale map. So cut your BMP file exactly so that it only shows an area which fits to the dimensions of the model you are going to digitize !
To select a bitmap, press the "Select Background Bitmap" Button to select the file. After selecting the file, it will be displayed on the screen and you can start editing the area as usually:

To hide the bitmap temporary, use the "Toggle Background Bitmap" button. Pressing it again will make the bitmap appear again.
Using the "Remove Background Bitmap" button will totally remove the bitmap out of the memory.
