Full 3D model
ENVI-met 4.0 will support FULL 3D models. If you want, you can of course, still use your old models or continue working in 2.5D, full 3D is just an option.
Full 3D means, that any structure of any complexity can be modelled in ENVI-met. The following picture shows as an example the semi-open space of a soccer statium to be built in Mainz, DE:

Any restrictions from the old model such as only one top z-coordinate and only one bottom z-coordinate are now history. You can design the 3D model as you like it. However, you are still bounded to rectangular co-ordinates and cannot create curved elements, this restrition will stay forever (or what we call "forever" in there days)
These new options go in line with the much more sophisticated buildung material model: In V4.0 you can select for EACH wall or roof segmet an individual material. The physical properties such as reflectance or transmissivity are of course taken into account when calculating the microclimate in ENVI-met. See also here for the changes in the editor...
