3D Visualisation with LEONARDO

3D-Displays are always cool. Unfortunally you need a lot of data to create such images. LEONARDO has a direct interface to ENVI-met datapools so you can easily navigate through the model data.

Some examples..

To look "inside" the 3D data field, Cuts and sections must be defined:

Here we have left just a thin slice of one grid cell width from the complete data set.

The same data as above, but a different view angel and a different section:

Now "the lot": The next figure shows a combination of "real" 3D data display (vertical slice) with "pseudo 3D" data (the flat horizontal surface):

You can produce some kind of "transparency" or "fog" by decreasing the size of the 3D grid volumes to that you can look though the data block...

Another option to visualise data in 3D space are the "Isosurfaces": LEONARDO can render up to 10 different surfaces to show the distribution of your data in space. Using clever sections, you can see the anatomy of the data field.

That's it folks,

To see more pictures, you need to start LEONARDO on your PC and be creative by yourself...

Have fun...
