UN sustainability declaration for architects

The United Nations have written a declaration for sustainable and inclusive urbandesign and architecture, which architect Norman Foster is set to launch next month. The declaration calls on architects and other building professionals to commit to a set of principles that support sustainable, safe, healthy, socially inclusive, climate-neutral and circular homes, urban infrastructures and cities.

Since our founding in 2014, ENVI-met has been committed to understanding the dynamics of local environments to enable sustainable urban design and create more livable cities for people, in balance with the natural environment.

We therefore very much welcome this step, because taking the needs of the environmental system into account – right from the first steps of the design and planning process – is an essential prerequisite for creating sustainable and nature-friendly homes and cities.
